RDIF files for Sputnik V registration in EU, review to start in Feb
MOSCOW, Jan 20 (PRIME) -- The Russian Direct Investment Fund has filed for registration of the Sputnik V vaccine in the E.U., and a rolling review process should start in February, the fund’s representative told reporters on Wednesday.
“The RDIF has filed an application for registration of the vaccine, and expects a rolling review to start in February,” the representative said.
The representative also said that on Tuesday, over 20 international experts and scientists from the European Medicines Agency held a scientific review for the developers of the vaccine. Following the discussion, recommendations would be sent to the developers of the vaccine in five to seven days, and the agency will decide on registration of Sputnik V following a series of tests, the representative said.
The representative also said that the World Health Organization will start a pre-submission review of the Sputnik V vaccine’s registration application on Friday.
“On January 22, the World Health Organization will start the procedure for a pre-submission review of registration of the application of Sputnik V,” they said.
